Instead, she finds Julian Ean, the gorgeous twenty-four-year-old calculus teacher the other girls whisper about, nursing a few of his own. Until that moment, Mr. Ean was simply a man she passed in the halls. Afterwards, he is impossible to ignore … to forget.
Mr. Ean only wanted to help Kaelyn. Patch her up and show her she was worth so much more than she was giving herself. He didn’t mean to fall in love with a student. It’s wrong, he knows it, but he can’t help himself around her. Not when her pain feels like his.

Book one in the Teaching Love Series, comes a poignant coming-of-age novel showcasing the beauty of strength and the delicious lure of forbidden love by Shana Vanterpool …
EXCERPT:
He takes a seat at the bar and stares at me with a myriad of emotions on his face. I can’t place them because I don’t know why they’re there. But I’ve felt a few. Sadness isn’t simply one emotion. It’s too many all at once.
“I’m sorry about that. You just got a front row seat to the end of my relationship and you shouldn’t have.”
I peek at him. “Is she your girlfriend?”
“Since freshman year of college.” He looks at the worn bar top for an uncomfortable second, and then the words seem to fall out of him in one heartbroken whisper. “I don’t know what to do.”
I look down too, not knowing what to say. Having no relationship to speak of, I don’t know what he’s going through.
He exhales deeply and stands. “I’d better get back.” He smiles weakly, leaving me at the bar.
“Who is that?” Tamryn asks, joining me as I watch him leave.
“Mr. Ean. He’s a teacher at my school.”
Her eyes widen. “He’s so young.”
“He’s twenty-four.”
“Huh. He’s so hot,” she murmurs, dumbfounded.
I smile. “He is kind of good-looking.”
“Kind of?” she scoffs. “Who’s he with?”
“His girlfriend.”
“Oh. Of course, he’s taken. Too old for you and taken for me. We can’t catch a break, can we?” She bumps my shoulder. “Get back to work, slacker.”
He wasn’t that much older than me. I do the math, shocked to find maybe six years is a stretch. Coupled with the fact that he’s a teacher, and the man is completely off-limits.

Author Bio: When I walk into a book store I feel at home. When I smell the pages of a brand new book things make sense. When I read I am who I always wanted to be. I read to escape and I write so others can as well. My family, my actress dog Bella, coffee, and a steamy love story are a few of my most precious things.

Review: Firstlife by Gena Showalter (Soundtrack)

Firstlife (Everlife #1) by Gena Showalter
Publisher: Harlequin Teen
Goodreads Summary:
I've been told history is written by survivors. But I know that isn't always true. My name is Tenley Lockwood, and very soon, I'll be dead. This is my storybut the end is only the beginning.

Tenley "Ten" Lockwood has spent the past thirteen months locked inside the Prynne Asylum. She's earned her rep as the craziest of crazies, but that doesn't stop the torture. Ten can leave, but only if she allows her parents to choose where she'll liveafter she dies.

There is an eternal truth most of the world has come to accept: Firstlife is merely a dress rehearsal, and real life begins after death.

In the Everlife, two realms are in power: Troika and Myriad, longtime enemies and deadly rivals. Both will do anything to recruit Ten, including sending their top Laborers to lure her to their side. Soon, Ten finds herself on the run, caught in a wild tug-of-war between the boy she's falling for and the realm she wants to support. Who will she choose? Can she stay alive long enough to make a decision?

Review: The Revolution of Ivy by Amy Engel

The Revolution of Ivy (The Book of Ivy #2) by Amy Engel
Publisher: Entangled Teen
Goodreads Summary:
Ivy Westfall is beyond the fence and she is alone. Abandoned by her family and separated from Bishop Lattimer, Ivy must find a way to survive on her own in a land filled with countless dangers, both human and natural. She has traded a more civilized type of cruelty--forced marriages and murder plots--for the bare-knuckled brutality required to survive outside Westfall's borders.

But there is hope beyond the fence, as well. And when Bishop reappears in Ivy's life, she must decide if returning to Westfall to take a final stand for what she believes is right is worth losing everything she's fought for.

Movie Review: Nerve

Title: Nerve (Based on the novel by Jeanne Ryan)
Rating: 7/10 Stars
IMDB Summary: A high school senior finds herself immersed in an online game of truth or dare, where her every move starts to become manipulated by an anonymous community of "watchers."
Review: *This review contains a lot of book/movie comparisons and therefore minor spoilers are frequent throughout it*

Welcome to Nerve; an online real-life dare game where you compete dares for points and prizes. Vee Delmonico would never have dreamed of playing Nerve, but when her friends say she doesn't take risks, she decides to make a point. Along with her partner Ian, they get into heaps of trouble whilst playing Nerve. The question is, how far will Vee go before she decides the stakes are too high?

This movie has been recommended to me by many people I know, and I later found out that it's based off a book, one which I've frequently seen in bookstores. So I read the book (review here) and watched the movie. I conclude that Nerve is a great movie - if you haven't read the book.

The differences kept coming, an endless stream. For me, Vee's full name not being revealed until late into the book is a small but important part. In the movie her name is revealed early on which annoyed me because it wasn't relevant at all the discovery didn't contribute anything. The basic storyline e.g. dares and character interests are changed, leaving us with blonde Vee and brunette Sydney which I never got used to. One of the main dares from the book stays the same while all the others change and I think if it hadn't I would've well and truly hated this movie after the completely different ending.

Other than the fact that Nerve started as a book, the movie is pretty good. I didn't like the text/dare layout as I thought it wasn't very visually appealing, but the characters and plot are enticing, the movie is filled with action, adventure and of course the high stakes dares which Vee and Ian partake in. It was a lot harder for me to enjoy the movie after reading the book, but I tried and eventually succeeded.

Book Blitz: Grand Finale: The Seal's Return by Patricia Potter (Giveaway)

On Tour with Prism Book Tours.

Book Tour Grand Finale for
The SEAL's Return
By Patricia Potter

We hope you enjoyed the tour! If you missed any of the stops, go back and check them out...

Launch - Author Interview

What do you hope readers take with them after they’ve read it?

That they respect the military and reach out with a helping hand and understanding heart. And that love can often conquer even the greatest obstacles.

Nicole's Book Musings - Welcome to Covenant Falls!

Covenant Falls is a very special town in Colorado. It has become a healing place for returning vets with the assistance of rescue animals and a quirky town population.

Three former vets – a wounded ex-Army Ranger, an Army chopper pilot and an Army battlefield surgical nurse – have found belonging, a home. . . and love there.

The newest residents are former Navy Seal Jubal Pierce and Dr. Lisa Redding in the February release of “The SEAL’s Return.” And their romance is the most troubled-filled of all.

"Patricia Potter writes about troubled pasts in an emphatic way. I could easily understand the emotions of her main characters. What I loved about The SEAL's Return the most is the way she writes about animals. . . . The SEAL's Return is a captivating story about both people and animals and I enjoyed reading it very much."

Colorimetry - Excerpt

Jubal Pierce plucked the letter he'd received yesterday from the trash can. He'd read it, then discarded it. This time he reread it slowly and considered the proposal.

Hearts & Scribbles - Building a Fictional Town

When I started writing “A Soldier’s Promise,” the first in my Home to Covenant Falls series, I knew I had a problem. All my other books were set in an actual place: Atlanta that I knew well, Memphis that I knew nearly as well, Boston that I had visited many times. But now I was writing a book in which a small town is a character in the book. I wanted it to be a little quirky, and quite obviously I couldn’t use a real one where everyone knows everyone. The only solution was to build my own town.

"Sometimes what you are not looking for, is just what you need most in the world! Patricia Potter takes us on an emotional journey of healing as we head back to Covenant Falls, Colorado to see the latest veteran to plan on just passing through and end up finding more than he was even looking for!"

The Silver Dagger Scriptorium - Creating the Perfect Couple

I like to create the perfect couple by creating the two people who are decidedly imperfect for each other.

When I start a book, I usually have a hero – or heroine – in mind and then visualize the polar opposite. My new book is a perfect example. I hope I have readers wonder how these two can ever resolve their differences.

Falling Leaves - Excerpt

She looked up to see two men enter Maude’s. One was Eve’s husband. The other man caused her breath to catch in her throat.

Lisa didn’t know why, exactly. It wasn’t because he was cover-model handsome. But there was something about him that was strikingly different.

EskieMama & Dragon Lady Reads - Researching a Book

One of my favorite aspects of writing is research. I have endless curiosity about nearly everything and everyone. I truly enjoy it when writing takes me to new places.

In The SEAL’s Return, I went on many journeys through Google. The first, of course, was about SEALs, the training they take, the type of missions they undertake, the various ranks, etc.

"I really enjoyed this story especially about a wounded hero who put his own suffering aside to help another. How could you not fall in love with a fellow like that?It really reminds you there is Hope and Joy for all of us within our reach. An enjoyable story about love and sacrifice that tugged at the readers emotions."

"The characters are ones you want to get to know and see good things happen to. I love how the author has Lisa as a caring and not a judgmental person. She cares a great deal for people. Jubal is always there for Gordon when he really needs someone. I like how everyone interacts and makes the story a real page turner."

Cafinated Reads - Review

"This is a story of hope, belonging and finding that one true love that will heal all wounds, past and present. I will be going back and grabbing up books 1-3 if they are all as amazing as this book! Jubal’s character stole my heart instantly. Lisa’s character was chiseled perfectly, in my opinion. Definitely a keeper, if you ask me! This book is deserving of 4.5 stars and the highest “hats off” praises you can give!"

Review: Rebellion by Kass Morgan

Rebellion (The 100 #4) by Kass Morgan
Publisher: Little, Brown Books for Young Readers
Goodreads Summary:
Centuries after nuclear war destroyed our planet, humanity struggles to rebuild. It’s been a month since the dropships landed and the Colonists joined the Hundred on the ground. The teens, once branded juvenile delinquents, are now leaders among their people.

The Colonists and the Earthborns are celebrating their first holiday together when, to everyone’s horror, they’re attacked by a group of strangers whose unusual battle cries fill the air. The newcomers kill scores of people, seize prisoners, and pillage crucial supplies. When hotheaded Bellamy and his analytical girlfriend Clarke discover that Wells, Octavia and Glass have been captured, they vow to get them back at all costs. But as they go after their new enemies, Bellamy and Clarke find themselves increasingly at odds, unable to agree on a plan to save their friends.

Meanwhile, Wells, Octavia, and Glass are being slowly brainwashed by their captors, religious fanatics with one goal: to grow their ranks and “heal” the war-ravaged planet… by eliminating everyone else on it.

But centuries of radiation exposure have taken their toll, forcing the cult to take drastic steps to survive. And unless the rescue party arrives soon, the teen captives will face a fate more terrifying than anything they could imagine. In this thrilling fourth installment, the hundred fight to protect the people they love on the dangerous planet they always dreamed of calling home.
Rating: 3.5 Stars
Review:
A group calling themselves the Protectors invades Clarke, Bellamy, Wells and Glass's peaceful home. Clarke and Bellamy will both do anything to get their friends back, but their thoughts have opposite patterns. Glass has a tough decision to make while Wells must pull off a devious façade.

As I've been watching The 100 TV show a lot recently I immediately noticed all the differences. The first three books in the series I read about May 2016 so it's been quite a while. The main characters go through some stuff but there isn't any major development except between Clarke and Bellamy.

Rebellion seems to make Wells's/Glass's perspectives lesser than Clarke's/Bellamy's. Wells and Glass also had some big decisions to make but not concerning any of the characters I care about. The most extreme emotion I felt during Glass's perspective is worry, but I didn't feel anything at all except in one scene of Wells's perspective.

I like Rebellion but I can't love it, there's not enough happening throughout the book (though the ending did make me sigh in victory and happiness!). I predicted a lot of the courses of action which resulted in me thinking that there should've been more hardships and plot twists. I hardly ever say this, but the characters got off way too easy, which made the book plain. The characters were okay but still not great. If you're looking for a relaxing quick read, this series is a perfect fit.

Excerpt:

I scrunch my nose up as I look at the door hanging open for us. "It's going to be a love fest in there, isn't it?"

Brent scratches his chin. "Honestly, every time the girls have shown up, I've had a girlfriend--so I've never really paid much attention."

I swallow, looking down at my shoes before looking over at him. "Was it a love fest for you?"

He blinks at me a few times, his lips in a stern line. "We don't just start fucking all over the bus."

I throw my hands up. "Hey, I know how it is. You haven't gotten laid in a few months and you get to see your significant other--"

"Is that all you think we think about?" he asks, a slight smirk on his face. "Or is that all you think about?"

My face burns red, and I shake my head. "No--not at all."

"Brent?" a woman's voice calls at our backs.

"Tay!" Brent replies as he turns, pulling her into a hug. "It's good to see you!"

Tay smiles as she pulls away from him. "I forgot how lovely you guys smell right after you get off stage."

I watch as Brent's face turns red, and he puts his hands in his pockets as he rocks on his heels. "Sorry, I haven't gotten a chance to shower."

She punches him in the shoulder. "Seriously, Brent? Believe me, Kie smells no better than you do. Speaking of which, where is he?"

Brent glances at me and then to the woman. She has long blonde hair curled into waves with ice blue eyes that are anything but cold. She smiles as she looks over at me, holding out her hand. "I'm sorry, this was rude of me--you must be Natalie, the photographer? I'm Taylor, Kie's girlfriend. Everyone calls me Tay."

I shake her hand. "You're the first one to actually introduce yourself to me. The other girls didn't even notice me at all."

She laughs, running a hand through her hair. "I'm sure if I saw Kie, I would've ignored you too!"

I nod over my shoulder. "Brent, go take a shower. I'll help Tay find wherever Kie ran off to."

Brent narrows his eyes at me, and I smile up at him. "You do smell."

He blinks at me. "And you smell any better?"

My eyes widen and he puts his hands up before backing slowly onto the tour bus.

"I'm sorry if I smell," I say as I look down at my damp tank top.

Taylor laughs. "You definitely don't smell like any of them do."

"Thanks," I reply. I nod towards the building. "I think he went somewhere inside the venue."

We fall into step with one another and she looks over at me with a slow smile. "So you...and Brent?"

My face burns and I feel a cold sweat building on my spine. I tell myself it's just the difference in temperature between the air-conditioned backstage and the heat of Arizona outside.

"No, not at all," I reply, and my voice cracks.

Because I'm thirsty. Who wouldn't be after the workout that is doing show photography?

She bites her lip. "Sorry, I didn't mean to assume--"

I put a hand up, laughing a bit too high pitched. "Believe me, I've gotten used to people assuming that."

"So do you?" she asks, biting her lip as she looks at me.

"Like him?" I finish her sentence.

She closes her eyes as we walk further into the venue and shakes her head. "You don't have to tell me. We don't know each other...It just seemed like you do."

An awkward silence falls over us, and I clear my throat. "Uh, I think I saw Kie go this way. All these places are so different -- crazy mazes."

I hear a muffled noise that sounds like Kie and head towards the door I think it's coming from. I open the door to peek my head in and blink as I stare at Kie with a half naked girl wrapped around him and his pants at his ankles. His eyes meet mine, going wide before I slam the door shut.

Taylor stands back behind me, and she swallows, staring at the closed door. "Anything?"

My hands go into fists as I try to control my facial expression. "Place has rats apparently."

Her eyes drop to the floor, and she nods. "Sometimes they do."

"Maybe he made it onto the bus by now?" I say, linking my arm in hers. Guilt washes over me as I try to act like I saw nothing.

Her body is stiff, and I can tell by the blank look in her eyes that she knows the way Kie is. "Sure, if not, I'm sure he'll make his way there eventually."

Silence falls over us as we make our way towards the bus. My chest tightens as I glance over at her, and I bite my lip before asking, "So it's that obvious?"

Taylor shakes her head, looking over at me and her friendly eyes have a dark hint to them as does her tone when she replies, "What?"

I feel the need to distract her from whatever is going on in her head.

"That I might be..." I suck my lips into my mouth before admitting, "A tiny bit attracted to Brent?"

Taylor bursts out laughing. "A tiny bit? And who says it's only obvious one way?"

Review: Nerve by Jeanne Ryan

Nerve by Jeanne Ryan
Publisher: Simon and Schuster Children's UK
Goodreads Summary:
A high-stakes online game of dares turns deadly.

When Vee is picked to be a player in NERVE, an anonymous game of dares broadcast live online, she discovers that the game knows her. They tempt her with prizes taken from her ThisIsMe page and team her up with the perfect boy, sizzling-hot Ian. At first it's exhilarating--Vee and Ian's fans cheer them on to riskier dares with higher stakes. But the game takes a twisted turn when they're directed to a secret location with five other players for the Grand Prize round. Suddenly they're playing all or nothing, with their lives on the line. Just how far will Vee go before she loses NERVE?
Rating: 4.5 Stars
Review:
Nerve is an addicting game. Real life truth or dare, without the truth part. When the game knows all your secrets and what you want the most in life, how can you refuse? But the stakes get higher with every level, and Vee will have to decide if the prizes are worth risking her life for.

Vee is often in the shadow of her best friend, the dazzling golden-haired Sydney. Working backstage while her friend takes centre stage in their school production, NERVE offers Vee everything she's ever dreamed of. What starts out as a silly joke to impress a guy turns into a full on, dangerous game with no limits.

Vee's character arc takes some brilliant turns which help readers to sympathise with her rather than hate her. Matthew, on the other hand, is little more than a side character but his personality describes that of many teenage guys. He is one of many underlying messages for the teenage community hidden throughout this book. Sydney and Vee's friendship is something special, I'm happy it doesn't end nastily.

I loved reading this book because the storyline, although abnormal could easily describe any other troubled girl in a difficult place and time. Switch NERVE with drugs, alcohol or any of the various other modern issues, the same story could be produced but with a much sadder ending. Nerve brings technology and reality together in a powerful novel which contains messages about many everyday problems conveyed in a subtler way. A must read for all fans of Sci-fi and YA Contemporary.

I’m so excited to introduce readers to the Becketts brothers—one a lawman, the other an outlaw—in my next two books releasing from Love Inspired Historical. In THE OUTLAW’S SECRET, you’ll meet Tate Beckett, a Pinkerton detective posing as his outlaw twin brother Tex. You’ll also meet Essie Vanderfair, a dime novelist in need of a great story. And she hopes to find it when she begs to go along with the gang of train robbers that Tate has infiltrated. These opposites-attract characters were so much fun to write as were the outlaws Essie meets and interviews.

Bookworm Lisa - Review

"There were several instances that brought a smile to my face and I wanted how to know they were going to get out of the mess they were in. This is a fun book that is set in the "Old West". There are outlaws, lawmen, and a feisty heroine."

Rockin' Book Reviews - Review & Interview

"This was a fun book. The characters were likable and flawed just enough."

Q: What other genre, one day, would you like to write? Why or why not?

A: Though I’ve tried my hand at writing contemporary, I enjoy writing historicals much more. I’ve also dabbled with the idea of writing historical women’s fiction, but I love a good love story so I don’t know that I could pull off writing something without having a romance at its heart.

"I love a romance that makes me swoon and this one does just that. Not only are the romance and characters well done, the setting is fantastic too. I felt myself transported back to the late 1800s and loved being a part of that time--when I wasn't shivering in my boots with fear. I also really enjoyed Essie's writing moments, which are often thoughts--she's an interesting character with a vivid imagination and has me engrossed in her ideas. I'm definitely looking forward to what this author writes next!"

Hearts & Scribbles - Meet Tate and Essie

Born and raised in Idaho, Tate Beckett is an identical twin. But his brown hair and blue eyes are about the only thing he shares with his brother Tex. Tate’s brother is the infamous outlaw known as the Texas Titan and Tate feels duty-bound to atone for his brother’s crimes by tracking down other outlaws in his job as a Pinkerton detective agent...

"The Outlaw’s Secret has it all – action, adventure, romance, humor, faith and depth. It will make you smile and it will twist your heart too. It will make you hold your breath – for the kisses and again for the nail-biting action. Essie is such a fun heroine, and Tate is most definitely swoonworthy. Another fun and sweet novel by Stacy Henrie that I highly recommend!"

I Am A Reader - Undisguised: the Pinkerton National Detective Agency

While operatives were required to abide by a code of ethics—including things like not accepting reward money and working with local law enforcement—Allen Pinkerton was a staunch believer in the end justifying the means. That meant that sometimes in order for an operative to track down a criminal, the detective might have to “become” a criminal in a sense—just as Tate does by posing as his outlaw twin brother in order do to bring down the Fletcher gang.

"There’s nothing typical about Stacy Henrie’s newest release and she has become one of my favorite writers in the Love Inspired line. The Outlaw’s Secret has it all – character depth, humor, romance, suspense, and rich historical detail. It’s well written, entertaining, and refreshingly unusual in storyline."

"On the romance side, it's fun to watch Tate/Tex and Essie dance around each other, both mistrusting in turn and each fiercely determined to follow their own goals. Their journey includes moments of danger, threats to budding feelings, and a few twists."

Kathleen Denly - Interview

Q: As an author, I often get asked how much of myself I put into my characters. So I’m curious, if you were on that train instead of Essie, how would you handle the situation?

A: I would’ve been terrified! And unlike Essie, I would have chosen to stay seated and silent and hopefully unseen.

"This was such a fun adventure. The story started off with a bang and took off from there. I settled right in and enjoyed the ride!"

Wishful Endings - Excerpt

Tate Beckett’s jaw was clenched so tight he thought it might snap. Of all the rotten misfortune. He had to run into a nosy, busybody like Miss Essie Vanderfair on his first job with Fletcher’s gang. If he wasn’t careful, this woman, with all her probing questions, would figure out he wasn’t the Texas Titan after all. Then his covert work, posing as his outlaw twin brother, would be finished.

Mel's Shelves - Review

"Once I started reading this book, I settled in and didn't want to put it down. It moves at a fast pace and there was never a dull moment. I enjoyed it from beginning to end and highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys a good, clean western romance!"

Falling Leaves - Excerpt

Fletcher’s mouth curled up in a sneer. “Try me, Tex.” He lifted his hands in a mock gesture of innocence. “But now your life is tied with hers.” He walked away, adding over his shoulder, “I think you’re smart enough to figure out what that means.”

"Stacie Henry has masterfully written a story that readers will be enthralled with from page one until the very end. This is a fairly quick and easy read that will inspire the romance in all of us! Henry has a distinct way of writing that will draw readers in as they leave the world of reality behind and enter the enjoyable and entertaining world of the Wild West."

Colorimetry - Excerpt

Sure enough she spotted the impression of horse hooves in the dirt and a partially trampled sagebrush farther on. If she kept heading in that same direction, she would eventually stumble into the trio.

She bent forward over the horse and coaxed it to go faster. There were interviews to conduct. And no one, not even a handsome, sly, back-stabbing Texan, was going to stop her.

Q: Is there anything you would like to say to your fans or readers?

A: Thanks for your support! I’m excited to share Tate and Essie’s story with you. If you read it and enjoy it, then look for Tex’s story in July, when you’ll find out where the Texas Titan was while Tate was impersonating him to take down Fletcher’s gang.

"The Outlaw's Secret delivers humor, romance, faith, and some wonderfully exciting moments where death is only a step away from both hero and heroine. . . . Fans of Stacy Henrie and of western historicals will surely not be disappointed in the thrilling pages. . ."

Heidi Reads... - Review

"I was glued to the pages to find out when Essie would discover Tate's secret, when they would give in to the chemistry building between them, and if the real Tex would make an appearance. Another great western from Stacy Henrie with suspense, action, and romance!"

Her heart beat faster as she opened her mouth and said, “Call me Essie. It’s only fair.”

A low chuckle sounded in her ears. “Try to get some sleep, Essie. We’ve got another long ride tomorrow.”

Smiling in triumph, she closed her eyes, but it was still some time later before she could turn her thoughts from the silent figure guarding the camp. And from the memory of her name on those nice, masculine lips.

ebook, 217 pages

February 14th 2017 by Montlake Romance

Bellamy Sullivan’s life is hardly regal. She’s a waitress from Ohio who’s been on her own since she was sixteen, working several jobs while her dreams of being a fashion designer stay just that. But everything changes when PR maven and soon-to-be-royal Lemon Beauchamp drops in to announce that Bellamy is a princess. Unfortunately, Bellamy’s newly assigned bodyguard is the last man she wants to see.

A year ago, the royal family of Monterra tasked Enzo Rannalli with confirming Bellamy’s heritage, which meant he had to get very close to her. Enzo got the confirmation he needed, but he didn’t expect their connection to be so meaningful. And he didn’t expect his sudden departure to break the young princess’s heart.

In exchange for a once-in-a-lifetime chance to kick-start her fashion career, Bellamy agrees to star on a royal reality show that will match her with the world’s most eligible bachelors. But after a series of disastrous dates make her even more grateful for Enzo’s company, she wonders if her fairy-tale ending is waiting to happen off camera.

About the Author

Bestselling author Sariah Wilson has never jumped out of an airplane, never climbed Mount Everest, and is not a former CIA operative. She has, however, been madly, passionately in love with her soul mate and is a fervent believer in happily ever afters—which is why she writes romance. She grew up in Southern California, graduated from Brigham Young University (go Cougars!) with a semi-useless degree in history, and is the oldest of nine (yes, nine) children. She currently lives with the aforementioned soul mate and their four children in Utah, along with three tiger barb fish, a cat named Tiger, and a recently departed hamster that is buried in the backyard (and has nothing at all to do with tigers).
