Book Blitz: Asking for trouble by Anna J. Stewart

A themed tour through Prism Book Tours.

We're Launching the BOOK TOUR for
Asking for Trouble
By Anna J. Stewart

Did you miss reading the first two chapters and finding out more about the author and the book? Go back and check it all out!

What do you hope readers take with them when they read it?
Kindness. Yeah, if there's one thing I'd love people to take away from reading ASKING FOR TROUBLE, it's the fact that kindness can and will change the world.

Kelly P's Blog - Excerpt

A solitary page of official FBI letterhead listing a string of contact numbers was topped with a fluorescent pink sticky note covered in almost illegible scribbles. Gage’s gut clenched as he made out a smattering of phrases and names, but one word stood out enough to raise the hair on his neck. “Why would the FBI be interested in the Nemesis case? And what does that case have to do with the Tremayne family?”

Mythical Books - Interview

Growing up in a world without age categories for books, what do you think about YA, NA, A etc age classing?
I grew up in the 70's and 80's during a time when there weren't many YA books beyond Sweet Valley High so I dropped pretty early into mainstream fiction. I started reading Stephen King when I was 8 and never once did my mother say no to a book or say I couldn't read something because I wasn't the right age (a gift I will never be able to repay). I began reading romances soon after starting high school and never looked back.

Book N Blog - Review

...the plot moved along well and there was even a little twist at the end that didn’t surprise me but I enjoyed nonetheless. Overall, this was a fun book and I would be happy to read other Tremayne Family stories by Anna J. Stewart.

My Life Loves and Passion - Excerpt

Gage cleared his throat and swallowed the bitterness. Dwelling on a past he couldn’t change didn’t do anything but raise his blood pressure. He was moving on, finding where he fit. For now, he was content with the refinished office and skeleton staff two floors below Evan. Just in case this Kolfax was on to something, “This fund-raiser tonight. Were you invited?”

“I was.”

“Too bad you won’t be able to go.” Gage popped the lid off his cup and tossed it into a trash can as they passed.

Southern Chelle - Review

The huge twist in the story is AMAZING! . . . I LOVE the writing and characters of Mrs. Stewart and look forward to more of her once – just like the last book I read of hers.

Mary Terrani - Excerpt

Three hours before the annual Cancer Treatment Center fund-raiser, Morgan Tremayne wasn’t wearing the hand-beaded designer dress and kill-me-now Manolo Blahnik sandals. She wasn’t walking into the Winstead Salon and Spa with the other socialites. She wasn’t applying the makeup she hadn’t worn in months. Instead, she was jammed under the kitchen sink of her late grandmother’s Victorian, grey sludge squishing between her fingers as she tightened the lugs on the garbage disposal.

Babs Book Bistro - Interview

What do you have in the works now?

The flood gates have finally opened, LOL. ASKING FOR TROUBLE is the first in the Tremayne Family Romances and I recently turned in books 2 (HERE COMES TROUBLE) and 3 (THE TROUBLE WITH NATHAN) to my editor. I’ve also started self-publishing a series of novellas that take place in the same town as these stories. The first of which, READING BETWEEN THE LINES is a sweet romance prequel (of sorts) and is available now. I’ve just dived into a new series for Harlequin Heartwarming (their sweet contemporary romance line) that should start coming out in late 2015/early 2016.
Colorimetry - Interview

Where do you get your ideas for characters? In particular, did you steal some characteristics from yourself or people you know for the main characters?

For me, I get an image first. There's a scene, a face, something that triggers an idea. It's typically the heroine who appears in my head to begin with and, funny enough, my life-long collecting of dolls comes into play. Each of my heroines has a Barbie representation sitting on my desk.

Beck Valley Books - Excerpt

“Yeah, but that means maybe, and maybe isn’t no,” Kelley squealed, jumping away. “Wait ’til I tell Lydia she’s getting a princess dress, too. Make sure you watch out for him tonight, Morgan.”
Morgan blinked. “Who?”
“Prince Charming. He’ll be there, I just know it..."

Mommabears Book Blog - Excerpt

Speaking of favors, Gage wasn’t convinced Evan appreciated Gage circumventing his plans for the evening, but Gage needed the perfect escort during the Tremayne Fund-raiser. Someone who could get him into the middle of action. Someone to make his foray into Nemesis’ hunting ground all that much smoother.
He only hoped the youngest Tremayne offspring would be more forthcoming than the picture he’d seen on the foundation’s website indicated.

underneath the covers - Spotlight

Wishful Endings - Excerpt

“Would you mind joining me for a drink while you wait for your date?” Gage asked.
“Oh, it’s not a date.” Morgan tried to remember the last time she’d even had a date. “Just a favor for my father.” Of course her father had no way of knowing how dangerous his request that she escort the District Attorney this evening was. Putting Morgan in the vicinity of law enforcement was akin to planting a time bomb at the base of the family tree.
“Then it’s his loss.” Gage smiled, displaying a set of straight, white teeth behind full, quirked lips.

The Written Adventure - Excerpt

“District Attorney Marshall sends his regrets.”

Morgan’s head snapped around as Gage joined them, pocketing his donation receipt and bidding marker.

“Inspector Gage Juliano, Mr. Tremayne.” He held out his hand. Jackson inclined his head as if trying to place him.

Inspector? Morgan’s throat slammed shut like a bear trap as blood pounded in her ears.

deal sharing aunt - Excerpt

“Let’s start over, shall we? Inspector Gage Juliano.” He brought her hand to his mouth, brushed his lips over her knuckles. “It’s lovely to meet you, Miss Morgan Tremayne.” Her laugh threw his heart into an uneven tarantella. “You’re going to be trouble, aren’t you?” Her smile tugged at the base of his heart.

“Inspector, you have no idea.”

Asking for Trouble (Tremayne Family, #1)Asking for Trouble
(Tremayne Family #1)

Anna J. Stewart
Adult Contemporary Romance
February 17th 2015 by Berkley InterMix

The Tremaynes are one of the most prosperous families in Lantano Valley, California. But money can’t buy everything—especially when it comes to love…

Morgan Tramayne has a heart of gold, but to keep her children’s charity afloat she’s had to resort to some less than legal means: donations from a notorious cat burglar who targets the wealthy. It’s only a matter of time before Morgan’s criminal connection blows up in her face—especially since her undeniable attraction to the man heading the investigation keeps putting her in tricky situations.

Former police detective-turned-investigator Gage Juliano has two goals: salvaging his career and nabbing Lantano Valley’s present-day Robin Hood. But when he meets a beautiful, curvaceous woman who’s more interested in helping others than amassing a fortune like the rest of the town’s residents, Gage finds his desires pulled in an unexpected direction…

Note: This novel contains some mature content.

You’ve met Anna J. Stewart (or someone like her) before. She was the girl who spun in circles on the playground hoping her Wonder Woman costume would magically appear before playing cops and robbers a la Charlie’s Angels–as Sabrina (she was the smart one). Anna was the girl in the back of the class with a paperback romance hidden in her algebra book (and yes, she failed algebra).

Growing up in the 70′s and 80′s meant there weren’t a lot of YA books, so she ventured early into mainstream fiction and read Stephen King’s CARRIE at the age of 8. Discovering Nora Roberts and romance novels early in high school opened her eyes to the wonders of storytelling and the beauty of a happily ever after.

So here she is, many years later with an English degree from CSU Sacramento, an RWA Golden Heart nomination behind her, countless stories in her head, and a serious addiction to STAR TREK, SUPERNATURAL, and SHERLOCK. She recently wrapped up a nearly 8-year stint working as assistant to NYTimes bestselling author Brenda Novak where she helped run Brenda's annual online auction for diabetes research. When she's not writing or reading (which she never has enough time for!), she's working on dollhouse miniatures and tolerating her overly-affectionate cat named Snickers (or perhaps it's Snickers who tolerates her).

~Praise for the Book~

"Enchanting and simply irresistible!
This book has astounded me. For one, this genre is not my cup of tea. Although I love science fiction, I?m not a big fan of fantastical worlds, especially when a medieval type of life is involved. Yet, this book has been a delightful surprise for me.

David Wind has created a world that expresses magic in every way; not just with the sparks and orbs of light that are expelled into the air with every wave and flick of the youngsters? hands, but also with the suitably old-fashioned dialogue and the masterfully described scenes of the magnificent landscape. This amazing future world is simply irresistible and as I read on, I felt suitably mesmerized by it. I?ve had the best ?mind trip? of my life in years with this book. A true gem of its genre. Well done, David Wind!

I?m already looking forward to the next book in the Tales of Navaeh Series as to see what else this highly imaginative author has in store for the reader.

Don?t miss out. If you love fantasy, trust me, you want to read this book!" -

5 stars from Effrosyni Moschoudi [Goodreads]

"A dystopic fantasy with a feminist twist!
David Wind has penned a classic fantasy quest and a fabulous first installment in what promises to be an epic series."-5 Stars from Lisa Verge Higgins

(Lisa Verge Higgins is the Author of The Proper Care And Maintenance Of Friendship)

"A very original story, very detailed and well written. Each character has their own qualities, some are likable while others are not. There is suspense, adventure and magic. All the qualities of a great fantasy."-
5 Stars from Sheri Wilkinson [Goodreads]

Movie Review: Catching Fire

Title: Catching Fire (based on the novel by Suzanne Collins)
Rating: 7/10 Stars
IMDB Summary: Katniss Everdeen and Peeta Mellark become targets of the Capitol after their victory in the 74th Hunger Games sparks a rebellion in the Districts of Panem.
Review: I watched this movie quite a while ago, but even now I am surprised at how different this movie is compared to the movie of the Hunger Games. It's almost like a different company did this movie. I loved it a lot more than the movie of The Hunger Games.

ONLY FOR HIM by Cristin Harber is available today!

Grayson Ford and Emma Kinglsey--close since they were kids, opposites in every way. He's the stuff high school crushes are made of, Mister Popular, and captain of every team. He hides a life of hell. His father hates him, his mother's gone. Emma is his only savior, yet she doesn't know her power over him. She's the only girl he wants, the only one he could ever tell--though he won't.

Until she discovers Gray's embarrassment, his humiliation. Emma fights for him and for a chance. Theirs is a Cinderella story that she believes impossible. But as the layers peel back, it's just a guy who needs a girl in order to keep breathing.

Only for Him. Only series, Volume One.

Book Blitz: Grand Finale: After the Silence by Rula Sinara

A themed tour through Prism Book Tours.

We're blitzing the GRAND FINALE for
After the Silence
By Rula Sinara

Two people from different worlds and separated by an ocean. Can love span the distance? Did you find out more during the tour? Did you miss some posts? Go back and check them out now!
What do you hope readers take with them when they read your book?

That there are no boundaries to love: not mountains, oceans, physical or emotional challenges, race, different cultures and not even species (sometimes a pet can open a heart when another person can’t). Love is a universal power that has an extraordinary ability to heal. And it always finds a way.

The Written Adventure - Ten Tips on Strategic Parenting from a Marine
A marine accustomed to battlefields—not babies—is thrown into single parenthood after the tragic loss of his wife. This man has braved worse things than a civilian could imagine, but raising a ten year old who hasn’t spoken since her mother’s death, a hyperactive four year old and an infant who can some major diaper damage…is a whole new kind of battle.

I Am A Reader - Soul Mates Stranded Oceans Apart

In my latest book, After the Silence, Ben Corallis, a widowed marine in America and Hope Alwanga, a medical intern in Kenya manage to meet despite the ocean between them, but that’s just the beginning of the impossible road ahead of them.

Letters from Annie (Douglass) Lima - Suffering in Silence: Selective Mutism in Children

It’s a whole different world when the inability to communicate doesn’t stem from language differences, but from deeply rooted fear or anxiety. In particular, trying to help or raise a child who suffers from selective mutism is heartbreaking and often frustrating because you don’t want to watch them suffer.

JoJo's Corner - Review

"The author does a fabulous job immersing readers into the story and creating powerful scenes throughout. . . . If you love stories of love and loss and second chances…don’t miss After The Silence."

Mythical Books - Heroes and Heroines: How Visual Are You?
When I embark on a new story, one of the first things that pops into my head is an image of the hero and heroine. After all, it would be kind of creepy stepping into their world and encountering faceless people. Don’t you think?

Christy's Cozy Corners - Review

"The characters in After the Silence are very well-written, and you'll feel like they could be your neighbor or best friend. This story drew me in very quickly, and I finished it within 2 days. It is very realistic and moving."

Brooke Blogs - Excerpt

But I need you to get some rest before I end up having to resuscitate you. Or before you do make a human mistake.”

Hope pressed her lips together and cringed at the mental image of Zamir resuscitating her. He’d love that, wouldn’t he? Zamir to the rescue. Always looking out for her. That was exactly why her parents loved him so much.

i blog 4 books - Review

"[After for Silence] is a sweet romance that tackles some tough issues as well. The intro gives readers a glimpse into the "what could have been", making the reality throughout the rest of the book even more heartbreaking. . . . I thought this was a great book. I'm looking forward to reading the rest of this series, so we can keep track of Ben, Hope, and the kiddos! [4 stars]"

WV Stitcher - Review

"Easy to connect with characters that provide depth and feeling for what they are going thru really captured my emotions as I read this story. . . . A touching story that left me wanting to read more from this author."

Wishful Endings - Review

After the Silence was a wonderful, heartfelt story. It was full of challenges, family, self-awakening, friendship, grief, and hope for a brighter future. I loved the romance and I loved these characters. If you enjoy sweet romance and this line of books then this is one you definitely don't want to miss!

Katie's Clean Book Collection - The Month of Love

Have you ever played the word association game? Isn’t it funny how, any given month is identified by its main holiday? I say November, you say….I’m betting you said Thanksgiving. I say December, you say…Christmas, right? And I can’t think of February without thinking of Valentine’s Day. But in a perfect world, shouldn’t every single day of the year be Valentine’s Day? Doesn’t love deserve 365 days instead of just 30…or 1?

Savings in Seconds - Review

"The story is gentle yet heartbreaking; the contrast makes the sweet parts even sweeter. . . . This clean romance has a tender story that all women, especially moms, can appreciate."

Rockin' Book Reviews - Interview & Reviews (Book One & Two)

5. Give us a hint of what the next book in the series will be about.
Thanks for asking! I'm so excited about Book 3 (yet to be titled) in the series. Those who read Book 1, The Promise of Rain, may remember Mac, the Serengeti bush pilot who volunteered time to helping wildlife rescuers and who had a thing for Anna ;). Well, he's the next hero, it'll be back to the wilds of Africa for his story! Stay tuned!

"I love her approach in addressing each topic and in the way she truly draws the reader into the story. The characters are very real and endearing and the scenes portrayed well and easily visualized." (Review)

“Is it so hard to say her name?” Apollo asked. “I think a few minutes ago was the first time you’ve said

her name since after you two fought Ares.”

My jaw ached from how hard I was grinding my molars.

“Whatever,” Apollo said, his attention returning to the godsforsaken ceiling fan chain. “Don’t talk about

it. Be the best issues-boy you can be.”

I took a deep breath. It didn’t help. “I don’t have issues.”

He tipped his head back and roared with laughter. Paintings of the nearby Blue Ridge Mountains rattled.

“You have more baggage than United Airlines. Cross that out. You have more issues than Medusa, and

that woman makes the inside of a cat lady’s thoughts seem like a calming place.”

“I hate you.”

“You wound me straight to the heart, bud.”

My patience was just about the same as that of Cerberus after someone tried to take a squeaky toy

away from him. “What about the girl, Apollo?”

He dropped down into the leather chair, his large form nearly swallowing it. “It’s a long story.”

“Go figure.”

That comment went largely ignored. “It all started with your birth, so there’s something else you can

add to your mountain of suck.”

I wondered if there was an anti-god repellent and where I could find it.

“We knew the moment you were born that there would be the possibility of a God Killer, since

Alexandria was on schedule to make an appearance a few years later. We didn’t know who among us

was responsible for your birth, but we knew they’d want to use you for their own gain.”

“This walk down history lane is boring me.” I crossed my arms.

Unaffected, he eased himself closer to the bed, kicked his booted feet up on it, and stretched out

leather-clad legs. “The risk of you two joining forced us to come up with a contingency plan in case the

proverbial poo hit the fan.”

My brows knitted. There was something wrong with hearing Apollo use the word “poo” in a sentence.

THE RETURN Synopsis:

The Fates are cackling their bony asses off...

It's been a year since Seth made the deal with the gods that pledged his life to them. And so far, the jobs

they've given him have been violent and bloody--which is kind of all right with him. But now Apollo has

something else in mind for Seth. He's got to play protector while keeping his hands and fingers off, and

for someone who really has a problem with restraint, this new assignment might be the most

challenging yet.

Josie has no idea what this crazy hot guy's deal might be, but it's a good bet that his arrival means the

new life she started after leaving home is about to be thrown into an Olympian-sized blender turned up

to puree. Either Josie is going insane or a nightmare straight out of ancient myth is gunning for her.

But it might be the unlikely attraction simmering between her and the golden-eyed, secret-keeping Seth

that may prove to be the most dangerous thing of all.

Because history has once again been flipped to repeat.

Exiled from the Anathema MC, Brew Darnell escaped the bullet only to face the unforgiving solitude of the road. Lana Grayson was born to write anything and everything to do with romance. Her favorite genres range from the dark and twisty to the lighthearted and sentimental—as long as the characters are memorable, the story is fun, and the romance is steamy. Lana lives in Pittsburgh with her husband, and, when she isn’t bundled in her writing chair, she’s most likely cheering on the Steelers or searching for the ‘Burgh’s best Italian restaurants.

Questionnaire for readers

So, I was tagged by Azee @UnderCover Critique! Here are the questions and my answers.

1. Do you have a special place for reading?

No, not really, although the most common place for me is on the couch. Other places I read include my study chair, my writing chair, my bed, and our comfy chair.

2. Bookmark of random piece of paper?

I guess I don't actually use a proper "bookmark", but I have these little pieces of cardboard that I write on, and use as a bookmark. I have like 30 of them so there's always one around!

3. Can you just stop anywhere in a book or do you have to finish a chapter?

I like to finish at the end of two pages, if there's a full stop. Preferably, end of a chapter. But sometimes I just don't have time, so I end up finishing anywhere. :(

4. Do you eat or drink while reading?

No! I never have, and I seriously doubt I ever will. It's just disgusting if it gets in the book.

5. Music of TV when reading?

I often listen to music while I read, and I sometimes read while watching TV if I'm hooked, otherwise I don't because I find it semi- distracting.

6. One book at a time or several?

Lots! I usually have 2 or 3 not so sustaining books in the background while I read other great books. If I only have good books I end up reading one at a time. I like reading in the order of best to worst, if I get a book i know will be amazing I will put down the book I'm reading and start that, unless the book I'm reading is better.

7. Reading at home or elsewhere?

Reading at home. No distractions, no interruptions (well, most of the time). Although Reading e-books is fine elsewhere, I find it hard to get distracted unless I'm reading a physical book.

8. Reading out loud or silently?

I hate reading out loud. Silent forever.

9. Do you read ahead/ skip pages?

Yes, if the book is especially boring. If I know the book will be amazing, I like reading the ending- they're generally spoiler-free, and interesting.

10. Breaking the spine of keeping it new?

I try very hard not to break the spine. New.

11. Do you write in you books?

No! I love keeping my books new and untouched.

12. Who are you tagging?

1. Erin @The Hardcover Lover
2. Tika @ Fangirl Confessions
3. Anna@Enchanted by YA
4.  Alex @ The Book's Buzz
