Lady Renegades (Rebel Belle #3) by Rachel Hawkins
Publisher: G.P. Putnam's Sons Books for Young Readers
Goodreads Summary: Just as Harper Price starts coming to terms with her role as David Stark’s battle-ready Paladin, protector, and girlfriend—her world goes crazy all over again.

Overwhelmed by his Oracle powers, David flees Pine Grove and starts turning teenage girls into Paladins—and these young ladies seem to think that Harper is the enemy David needs protecting from.  Ordinarily, Harper would be able to fight off any Paladin who comes her way, but her powers have been dwindling since David left town…which means her life is on the line yet again.

New York Times bestselling author Rachel Hawkins brings the fun once again in the finale of this pitch-perfect romantic paranormal comedy series.

Review: I really didn't like the series, not one of the three books. For some reason, a lot of elements just annoyed me. The only real reason I continued reading the series after Rebel Belle is that I like the idea and dislike not finishing a series regardless of quality. This review isn't going to be all negative though, because I think there are definitely people out there who will enjoy this series and rate each book with five stars.

The main thing that I hated consistently throughout the series; the characters. Sure, I quite like Ryan, but he's only a minor character. Blythe is cool as well, but we don't really get the opportunity to see her develop like she could've. I don't hate Harper, Bee, and David, but I seriously dislike them. Their personalities, general traits, appearances, and most things about them infuriate me.

I've said this before many times, and I'm saying it again. I love the idea of this series! Paladins, an Oracle, etc. As for the execution, I think the story ideas could be a lot better with different characters and a new story line.

The start of Lady Renegades bored me to death, I was almost tempted to give up. The constant use of "y'all" just irritates me, and I feel as if the vocabulary is very limited, maybe just 500 or so words. As for the ending, I think it's quite cliché and easily predicted.

Miss Mayhem (Rebel Belle #2) by Rachel Hawkins
Publisher: Speak
Goodreads Summary: Life is almost back to normal for Harper Price. The Ephors have been silent after their deadly attack at Cotillion months ago, and best friend Bee has returned after a mysterious disappearance. Now Harper can return her focus to the important things in life: school, canoodling with David, her nemesis-turned-ward-slash-boyfie, and even competing in the Miss Pine Grove pageant.

Unfortunately, supernatural chores are never done. The Ephors have decided they’d rather train David than kill him.  The catch: Harper has to come along for the ride, but she can’t stay David’s Paladin unless she undergoes an an ancient trial that will either kill her . . .  or make her more powerful than ever.

Review: I didn't hate it, but I didn't love it. It was a good read, enjoyable, however I wouldn't recommend it to everyone.

Miss Mayhem was quite similar to Rebel Belle, in that it wasn't as interesting as it could've been. The basis for an interesting story was definitely there, but not used enough to keep it interesting. The background is a very original idea that I liked, however it didn't live up to its full potential.

One thing I really hated/strongly disliked about both Rebel Belle and Miss Mayhem, Miss Mayhem even more than Rebel Belle was the focus on Harper being a pretty, 'perfect', girl with a normal life. This screamed cliché to me, and I felt the same for all her relationships. I understood her perfection in a sense, but the relationships were unnecessary.

Continuing with that, Rachel Hawkins didn't just start with a love triangle, she used at least three that I counted, and pretty much every main character dated the other's ex. I felt that the emphasis should've been on Paladins, Ephors, Mages, and Oracles rather than trying to keep the normalcy of YA Contemporary.

Miss Mayhem had a lot of room for potential, but sadly it just didn't happen. It wasn't a terrible book, but I simply just didn't fint it as enjoyable as I thought I should've.
